If you’ve been alive for the past couple of years. Which is either a curse or a blessing whether you are an optimist or a pessimist. The online sector has grown exponentially! How big I hear you ask… In 2020 alone the e-commerce sector grew by 43%. This major shift to online retail has given us a huge change in how websites are set up and how they serve their purpose. Web Design has changed along with the move. This has given us many design changes that we really have never explored. The wonders of the unexplored frontier of the internet.

One of the many design changes that have popped their heads out of the womb is Layers. In graphic design, we have used layers for the last two decades. Well, finally Web Design is catching up! In general, that is true. Web Design and Development have slowly turned from text-based web pages in the 90s to what we see today. With advancements in web design software, we have seen a turn from ultra-utilitarian websites to an almost graphic designer take on websites.

With the significant advancements in software, you will see shifts in the community, especially with AI-powered software. I will go on about AI-powered advances in a future post. What I’m trying to get at here is that web design and web development are more than ever really important for your website. Whether you own a small coffee shop or a large multi-million dollar company. You need to keep up with the trends. My grandmother has always said this: “If you are not changing, you are dying”.

Yes, you can sit here and judge me. I am a Web Designer myself. I’m trying to market my product, but I do not care how you update your website. All that I ask is that you please futureproof the website. I recommend WordPress to everyone out there. You can find people to build the site if you don’t want to. It is also a very touched-on subject on YouTube too. So doing it yourself is also an option. What I want from everyone is to build a self-sustaining life. Selling online or having a website for just awareness is better than not having anything at all!
